Bio:
SSG Jon C. Hunker (Retired)
Jon entered the United States
Army in May of 1975 and retired
honorably in June of 1995. His
initial enlistment found him in
the 2nd Armored Division as a
4.2 Mortarman, Battalion and
Company Clerk, and Company
Training NCO. He reenlisted and
completed Air Traffic Controller
School in August 1979 and
carried that MOS for the
duration of his career.
Excelling in advanced studies
Jon completed the FAA ATC
Examiner Course, the Nuclear,
Biological, and Chemical (NBC)Warfare
School, the Advanced Battalion
Training Course, the Advanced
Non-Commissioned Officers
Course, and the Combat
Lifesaving Instructor Course.
Some of Jon's additional duties
and accomplishments include ATC
Facility Chief, ATC Training
NCO, FAA ATC Examiner, Company
Training NCO, Battalion NBC
Training NCO, and Ft. Rucker's
Post Combat Lifesaving
Instructor a course he
initiated, implemented, and
maintained where previously none
existed.
After retiring Jon continued to
advance his knowledge by a hands
on approach in various
management positions, finally
securing a position as Director
of Customer Care at FedCel, a
start up company in the Cellular
Technology field. Utilizing his
skills in the leadership and
development of junior personnel,
his department supplied FedCel
with over half of the senior
management positions of the
company within two years. In
2006, Jon was acquired by
SMobile Systems to lead their
Client Services Division. Jon
Hunker maintains his tradition
of leadership by founding
Material & Supply Procurement,
